Meet Tammy Hansen

Tammy Hansen was born and raised in Nebraska and earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Nebraska Methodist College of Nursing and Allied Health in Omaha. She and her husband, Scott, have been married for more than 34 years.

Her professional journey began in St. Louis, Missouri, where she worked as a Registered Nurse at St. Luke’s Hospital on a cardiac/telemetry unit and later in pre-op and recovery at an outpatient surgery center. 

In 1997, Scott’s career took them overseas to Hong Kong and then Sydney, Australia. While living abroad, Tammy embraced a variety of volunteer and professional roles, serving at the Po Leung Kuk orphanage, the Hong Kong Riding for the Disabled Association, the American Women’s Association of Hong Kong, and the Hong Kong International School’s English department. She also worked with the school’s medical team on a week-long biking trip into Mainland China.

When Tammy and Scott returned to the U.S. in 1999, they settled in Ahwatukee, where they raised their three children—a son and two daughters—and recently welcomed a son-in-law to the family. For more than 25 years, Tammy has been actively involved in the community.

 She has volunteered with the MOMS Club of Ahwatukee, Family Promise, Operation Christmas Child, 100+ Women Who Care, One Mission Rocky Point, and local running events. She has also served in leadership and support roles with the PTOs at Monte Vista Elementary and Altadena Middle School, as well as Desert Vista High School booster clubs for Volleyball, Cross Country, and Dance.
